To say we hope recovery … is well and truly near.

A surgeon’s knife and hormones … must truly be to blame

We hear you’re feeling down at mouth … that really is a shame!

 

 

We know that you are more than … more than most can hope to be

A writer oh so talented … with a wit that’s clear to see.

So dear Em … we wish you well … your body it must mend

Lots of healing wishes … with this ode to you we send!

 

 

We hope that you … in double quick time … are feeling well and happy

to delight us with another blog, that’s funny, wild and snappy.

Ode to Copywriting

Did you ever write a letter … about your new design,

about your greatest offer … or perhaps your latest line?

Thought to yourself ‘this’ll really fly-this one will make me rich!’

Then you didn’t sell but one … isn’t life a bitch?

‘Oh woe is me’ … perhaps you said … (lets keep this ode polite)

and then you sat up worrying … until the dead of night.

Something went wrong, its clear to see … must be the time of year

perhaps it was the pricing … maybe they’re just too dear!

‘Never mind … I’ll try again .. this time reduce the price,

how can they fail … I don’t believe … that this could happen twice!

I’ll sell this line … you wait and see!   A million pounds I’ll make

if I sell fifty thousand lots … oh yes … that’s what I’ll take!’

‘I know’, you thought … ‘I’ll do an ad .. that would be alright’

and so you sat up worrying for yet another night.

‘Must get this right .. this ad must work – Its going to cost a mint!

But I must sell my product … I know I cannot stint.’

But, alas, alack, once more … I didn’t make a sale ..

another waste of money – where did my new ad fail?

With spending all that money … things will be getting tight

and we’d hate to think you’re having … another sleepless night!

What you need are some simple words … a little bit of copy

We’ll send them over soon enough … by email – or on a floppy.
